Oftentimes, I have found myself captive to my desires. I have found myself deeply buried time and again into the dungeons so deep that I had prayed for someone to rescue me. I have been rescued plenty, but fallen victim to my desires more often.
The most vicious of all, the ego. This monster has horns from hell and has vivid and deceiving eyes. This monster has frivolously owned a better half of my life. I have seen it 100s of times, and yet never recognized it, not even once.
This monster dresses and looks exactly like you, it even speaks to you like you are on your own talking to yourself.
The self is a veil over yourself; listen and mark this well. It is an existence that stands in the way of union. (Bhitai)
Next up, the desires of the possession, the lust for the things that I deem necessary but are of no value. The treasures of the world, the technology I want to own, the cars that I would buy next, the price tag on everything I have ever put has become a price tag of my soul! Everything out there is but the next target to achieve if you are under the spell of vile lust of possession. I see it as a beautiful treacherous monster with a foot on your shoulder keeping you down yet making you feel and look beautiful at the same time.
Next up and the weakest of the two is the devil himself with the only job of a whisper, and if one has given up to the ego and the lust of possession that whisper will surely work. I have lent my ears to the devil so many times and fell prey to the mercy of the world!
The hope of the better me and the struggle for the same continues from these dungeons. Can one be truly free of these dungeons?
